Christmas Coundown #6 – the great outdoors

We’re keeping with our weekend theme of getting outdoors and enjoying nature for better mental health and our Day #6 photo of our Christmas Countdown is the perfect image to capture our wonderful countryside. Olivia Harradine won 3rd place in the ‘Outdoors’ category of the Ross in Lockdown photo competition and shows one of their regular family walks during lockdown in Lea.

This picture was taken on one of our lockdown walks around the lanes of Lea. I like how the photo has a lot of colour and how our footsteps are in the ground! We walk to the tree on the right every evening, it’s almost become part of our family! The field on the right grew rapeseed, while the field on the left is now full of potatoes 🙂 This sums up our county’s agricultural heritage.”

The judges thought the perspective was beautiful and that the balance of the whole composition was stunning.

If you can’t get out and need help with shopping or other daily chores due to illness or if you are self-isolating, please get in touch with our Ross Good Neighbours volunteer team and we will be happy to help. Telephone our Helpline on 01989 313002 or email help@rosscdt.org.uk and one of our friendly volunteers will get back to you.
