Sharing Warmth this Winter
Ross CDT is continuing to run its Warm Ross scheme this winter and is asking those least affected by the cost of living crisis to help us to keep those on low incomes warm and fed. Last winter we were grateful for nearly £4500 of donations from local residents to the Warm Ross fund. This money was used exclusively for meter top-ups or food vouchers for those most at risk, with no deductions made for admin costs by the CDT. We worked closely with Ross Community Garden and the Community Larder to make sure the money was used effectively.
We have again opened the fund for donations at https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/21915 Last year some people donated the Winter Fuel allowance that their household had received if they thought that they did not need this government support. This year the allowance paid in November or December will be £500 for most households with at least one person above state pension age, as well as some households entitled to other benefits. But whatever your circumstances, please do consider donating if you can afford it. And if you are eligible for Gift Aid, clicking the button allows the CDT to increase your donation by 25%.
