Georgie Hughes’ entry in the ‘Baking’ category won first place in the Ross in Lockdown photo competition 2020

After the Great British Bake Off, the run up to Christmas is the next big milestone that brings out the star baker in most budding chefs. TV is awash with cookery programmes and there isn’t a channel that doesn’t broadcast how to make Christmas cake, yule logs or mince pies.

Hereford’s Healthy Lifestyle team are hosting two more Christmas baking sessions in their Season’s Eatings series of free online Facebook cookery classes. Log onto https://www.facebook.com/HLTSlifestyles this Wednesday 16 December at 5pm for Yvonne’s chocolate truffles masterclass and next Saturday 19 December at 10am to bake your festive gingerbread reindeer. So grab your mixing bowls and your kids and get ready to pebble dash the kitchen.

Earlier this year, the judges in our Ross in Lockdown photo competition could spot star quality a mile off and awarded the photo of these two little bakers first place in the ‘Baking’ category. The fabulous baker boys, Jasper and Elliott, have since found a more fitting career path and were chosen to play Prince William in Netflix’s latest season of The Crown.
