Fifteen volunteers from across Ross have stepped forward to become Neighbourhood Buddies, as part of the Ross Good Neighbours project, which will be launched early next year. Last Friday, they attended a training session at the Larruperz Centre to find out more about the role and especially the importance of safeguarding members of the public.

Ross Good Neighbours is being supported as the Mayor’s project this year. The Mayor, Cllr Jane Roberts, said: “It is really encouraging to see people wanting to get involved with this new scheme. Ross Good Neighbours is working to establish a Neighbourhood Buddy system across the whole of Ross and it is exciting to be working with these new volunteers as we prepare to get started. We are very grateful to Chrissie Pepler from the Diocese of Hereford who ran the training session for us this evening.”

If you have a few hours to spare each month, and would like to to be a contact point for Ross Good Neighbours by becoming a Neighbourhood Buddy, please fill out the form at http://bit.ly/RossGoodNeighbours and someone from the project will get in touch.
