If you’ve never heard or Pickleball, you’re not alone – it’s the latest racquet sport to hit Herefordshire and you can try it in Ross-on-Wye on Thursday 3 March at the Ross Tennis Club.

This unique sport combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis and is a great way to keep fit. It’s played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, over a net.

Pickleball is less strenuous on the body than tennis, but is ideal for developing fitness and having fun.

No special equipment is required and any comfortable clothing is fine although trainers or tennis shoes are recommended.

For the first time in Herefordshire, you can come along and try it at Ross Tennis Club on Thursday 3rd March, 11:00-12:00. If you’d then like to sign up for a six week session – or are already convinced you’d like to take it up – you can register here and join the hour-long weekly classes from Thursday 10 March at 11:00.
