Free ‘Adult Safeguarding’ course in Ross-on-Wye

As part of our Clover social prescribing programme and in conjunction with Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire, we are holding a free Adult Safeguarding course next Wednesday 23 February in Ross-on-Wye. The course is aimed at anyone who comes into regular contact with adults at risk.

Course details and how to book your place:

Course: Adult Safeguarding

When: Wed 23 February, 13:30 to 16:30

Where: Larruperz Centre, Grammar School Close, Ross-on-Wye HR9 7QD

Who is the course for? Anyone who comes into regular contact with adults at risk.

What will you gain? The course will help participants to feel more confident about recognising and responding to adult abuse.

At the end of the course participants will be able to:
Explain the actions to take if they suspect a person is being abused or neglected

Explain the terms ‘safeguarding adults’ and their role in local procedures

List the main types of abuse & the signs and symptoms associated with abuse

List a range of factors that feature in adult abuse and/or neglect

Describe the importance of person centred care and what can be done to promote dignity

Respond to a suspected or disclosed allegation of abuse

Explain how to protect individuals from harm and abuse

Explain how to apply basic principles to help individuals to keep themselves safe

Complete accurate records in line with local procedures
