About a year ago, I told the Trustees that it was time for me to step down as Chair of the Ross-on-Wye Community Development Trust. After six years, I think the charity is resilient enough for me to make way for someone younger to take things forward. I am so pleased that Alison Clarke, who was the Project Officer before Ali Park, has agreed to take on this role. She has the same passion for the CDT and its work as I do, so I think things are set fair.
I am daily struck by that same passion in all of our 150+ volunteers, who give hours of their time to serve our community. Every shopping delivery, newsletter round, befriending visit and Helpline response is the result of volunteers working on their own initiative but within a self-organising team. This is exactly the vision I started with and it is so gratifying to see it realised. I will still be an active volunteer, delivering newsletters, doing relief shopping now and then, as well as working more closely with the DBS check team.
With all best wishes for our future successes, and thanks to everyone who is involved in helping Ross help itself.
Jane
