Financial help and support

Money can be a big worry for anyone

If you are finding money matters a challenge – you are not alone. There are many ways that difficulties can start, and then accumulate. Whatever the reason, remember that support is within reach, it is not illegal to owe money, and there is always a way to deal with debt.

Causes of Debt

Loan Sharks

It can be tempting to take out a loan to pay off debts, but there are pitfalls. Loan rates can be extremely high, leading quickly to greater debt. Some lenders operate illegally.

Financial abuse

Financial abuse involves controlling someone’s ability to keep and use money. It can range from forcing someone to account for every penny they spend, to restricting access to savings, and stealing.

Home heating and other fuel

Bills for all kinds of energy are going in just one direction right now. There are ways to reduce your bills, and help is available so that everyone can heat their home in winter
